Happy Thanksgiving from the Wicked GT! News & Notes for Wicked GT 2016!

Posted on Updated on

Holiday Season is upon us here in the Midwest! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we’d like to extend the holiday cheer to each and every person this year and to let you know some various news and notes for the upcoming Wicked GT 2016!

First, we are moving to the 9th Age on December 5th as part of our Battle for Oz Tournament Series.  Upcoming is Round 3 – The Lion’s Pride – and it will be the first ever tournament featuring The 9th Age rules! After that we’ll close out the tournament series with Round 4 – Dorothy’s Return Home – in February 2016 and then we’ll hold our 2nd ever Wicked GT, which will be featuring the 9th Age!

The date and time has now been set for the 2nd Wicked GT! March 18-20, 2016 and we have partnered with Best Western Wichita North Hotel & Suites located at:

915 East 53rd Street North, Park City, KS 67219, USA, (316) 832-9387 (Note that this is the same venue as last year.)

Registration is now open as well! Make sure to visit the Registration page if you’re interested in attending. Also note that the cost is only $50 this year!

Also (and probably the most important) the Wicked GT 2016 will now be featuring The 9th Age rule set. If you haven’t visited their site then make sure that you do very soon and familiarize yourself with the new rules. All army books have been given an update and the crew from the 9th Age have committed to having them fully complete by 2nd quarter of 2016. It’s a very exciting time as we transition over to the next era of Warhammer – The 9th Age!

A few things to look forward to over the next few months:

  • Registration! Now open! Make sure to sign up as soon as you can!
  • Beer! We’re working on our bar again for this year. Last year we had a keg of Bud Light as well as some easy mixers like rum, vodka, and fireball! This next year we look to build on that and bring you some more booze so that we can party all weekend long for the Wicked GT! The final menu will be released when we’ve worked out what all we’ll be purchasing!
  • Players Packets! Updated players packets for the 2nd Wicked GT will be released shortly after the New Year!
  • Wicked GT Trophies! If you attended last year then you know that the Wicked GT has some of the best, one-of-a-kind trophies around! They are coming back in full force this year!
  • Golden Toto Painting Competition! This year we’ve made many changes to the painting competition. A new form will be created and each participant will have to fill it out for each entry. The judging guidelines have been updated and the form will be released after the New Year so you can review it. Also, Golden Toto custom trophies are being sculpted as we speak!! Each category winner will walk away with their own custom trophy!
The trophies will look like this!
The trophies will look like this!

Lookin’ forward to a great turnout for the Wicked GT 2016! Stay tuned as we’ll have all updates here and on our Facebook page, make sure to like us and follow us on Twitter (@thewickedgt)!

Wicked GT 2016 will be Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age!

Posted on Updated on

Lots has happened over the last few months in the gaming scene all across the country! Even as I type this there’s a great movement for keeping the spirit alive for Warhammer! Different GTs across the country have elected to move to Kings of War for their tournaments and others have elected to drop out altogether. While we have a strong gaming group that is all in favor for trying out Kings of War (and have even had our first tournament!) we still have lots of people that are interested in keeping Warhammer alive! Many people can’t get enough and simply play both Kings of War and Warhammer: 8th edition! But we are now going to move forward and are excited to announce that B.A.W.G.S. and the Midwest Gaming Alliance are adopting Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age as our gaming system going forward! That’s right! The Wicked GT 2016 will be running The 9th Age! For more information on The 9th Age movement, visit this link!

9thage

Again, we have guys who support all types of games and there are plenty of weekend tournaments that will be supporting both KoW and The 9th Age so feel free to participate in any tournament with any game system you choose! We have a lot of support from our local gaming group to move to the 9th Age and so we’re currently running our Battle for Oz Tournament Series and will finish out next month’s tournament (on October 17th) as a final send off for Warhammer 8th edition. Then going forward with Round 3 – The Lion’s Pride – we will start using The 9th Age rules! After that we’ll close out the tournament series with Round 4 – Dorothy’s Return Home – in February 2016 and then we’ll hold our 2nd ever Wicked GT, which will be featuring the 9th Age!

There’s lots more that is sure to develop over the next few months and we’ll make sure to keep you updated as things progress. In the meantime,  head on over to The 9th Age website and get yourself a copy of the rules so that you’ll be ready to participate in any of the upcoming Battle for Oz Tournaments as well as the Wicked GT in March 2016!

A few things to look forward to over the next few months:

  • Registration! We’ll open up registration for the Wicked GT 2016 very shortly!
  • Dates to be set! We’re finalizing the weekend for Wicked GT 2016 and know that it will be in March, we are just waiting for the right weekend. Coming soon!
  • Players Packets! Update players packets will all you need to know for the Wicked GT!

Lookin’ forward to a great turnout for the Wicked GT 2016! Stay tuned as we’ll have all updates here and on our Facebook page, make sure to like us and follow us on Twitter (@thewickedgt)!

The Show Must Go On!!! Wicked GT 2016 coming in March!

Posted on Updated on

The Show Must Go On!!! Everybody that plays Warhammer knows full well about all that has happened over the last few months with Games Workshop and the state of the game that we all know and love so I won’t go into too much detail about all of that. I will, however, take this time to let everybody know that no matter the situation, whether the game has somehow been revived by GW or there are fan-made changes that we adopt as a Midwest community, The Wicked GT 2016 will be here! (@thewickedgt) Here’s a few things that I’d like everybody to know:

– The Battle for Oz Tournament Series! If you’re local to the Kansas area and are still interested in Warhammer then do your best to come be apart of the Battle for Oz Tournament Series that we hold every other month at Hero Complex. This is a (somewhat) narrative approach that we’re taking for the tournaments and it’s seen as a storyline that leads up to the final battle which will be the Wicked GT 2016. There’s a points system that tracks all the players and, in the end, the player with the most points will become the Battle for Oz Grand Champion! Round 1 of the Series, The Scarecrow’s Wrath, took place on August 15th and Round 2, The Tin Man’s Revenge, will take place on October 24th. We currently have 10 people signed up and will only grow as we continue to push Warhammer and play the game that we all love. So if you’re free and want to play some 8th edition Warhammer, please visit this link for all the information you need about the Tournament Series and when the next tournaments will take place!

– Warhammer 8th Edition! As stated earlier, we still have a large group that supports Warhammer 8th edition, which is why we’ve decided to push forward and move on with our original plans. There may come a time over the next few months where we start to transition to Kings of War (or some other game) but for now the love for Warhammer is still strong here in the Midwest. People love it, people want to play it, and people have asked for the Wicked GT 2016 and so that’s our goal – to bring everybody together for the 2nd Wicked GT! Any changes made to rules over the next few months will be made known here on the Wicked GT website, so make sure to check back. As it is right now, we are running the 8th edition rule set of Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

– Wicked GT 2016 Features! There are going to be some great features for the Wicked GT 2016 and we’ve already started planning on tons of things that we’re making changes to in order to bring you an excellent and memorable gaming experience. Here’s a few of the things we’ve been working on:

  • Cost! This year we are going to charge less for the Wicked GT! Initially we charged a little bit more to offset the cost of the tables but now that they have been purchased we are passing those savings on to you and so we’re looking at making the Wicked GT 2016 somewhere in the range of $40 to $50 per person, as opposed to $60/$65 from last year! When we finalize the price you’ll see it right here!
  • Golden Toto Painting Competition: This will be back and better than before. Updated scoring rubrics, new categories, and new rules will call on all of the best painters around to showcase their skills at the Golden Toto Painting Competition! New this year also… Brian Hunter (@bambamhunter), who is currently doing all of the artwork for each of the Battle for Oz Tournament Series, is going to sculpt actual Golden Toto trophies to hand out to each winner of each category! Brian is seriously talented when it comes to this stuff (make sure to check out his fan page) so we can’t wait to see what he has in store. Last year he did the artwork for the Wicked GT as well as the Painting Competition! This is what he drew up for the Golden Toto Painting Competition! More to come as we get updates from Brian!
  • IMG_0556
  • Custom Trophies! This year we are bringing back the custom trophies that you can only find at the Wicked GT! If you missed these last year then do your best to participate this year because being able to walk home with one of these trophies can only be found right here! Chris McArthur made each of the 11 trophies and we aim to bring these back this year as well!
  • Booze! That’s right! We’re bringing the bar back with drinks and beer that will be available throughout the weekend of the Wicked GT 2016 (@thewickedgt)! There could be some changes to this for this upcoming year… mainly a small fee that would serve as a “weekend pass” to have unlimited drinks. This fee will be small and will serve only to help with the cost of the alcohol and supplies for the weekend. This is not set in stone but something we will know more about as the weeks pass. Stay tuned!
  • Updated Scenarios! We will make some changes to the scenarios from last year and work on the faction abilities as well so that we can bring you an unforgettable gaming experience!
  • Time Frame! As of right now, we are targeting March 2016 for the time frame for the Wicked GT. We’re currently working with the hotel to determine open dates and once we have a firm date we will post that here. But for now just want to make sure everybody is aware that we are going to have it in March 2016.
  • Social Media! If you have Twitter then make sure to follow us @thewickedgt and to like our Facebook page found here. Everything we post on this page will be posted on both Twitter and Facebook pages so if you don’t happen to catch updates on one thing then you’ll likely catch it on another!

There’s plenty more to come over the next several months but the mail goal for this update is to raise the level of awareness that the Wicked GT 2016 show will go on and we will bring it to you live and up front in March 2016! So many more updates to come so make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and bookmark this page so that you can get all the updates as they are made available. We’re looking forward to another great GT that brings around some of the best gamers in the country! Warhammer lives on in the Midwest so make sure that you’re a part of it! Stay tuned for more!

Sponsor Spotlight : Bits of War & Summertime Wicked GT News!

Posted on Updated on

Summertime Update:

Well the summer is upon us now (at least here in Kansas and Oklahoma) and the days are getting longer and hotter and the pool looks more and more inviting with every day that arrives! The dog days of summer will be here before we know it and we’ll be complaining about how hot is… We’ve already begun planning for the Wicked GT 2016 and we know some details as of right now:

– It will be held in March 2016 (date not yet determined)

– The Golden Toto Painting Competition will be back but there are TONS of changes being made to it. The restrictions, awards, categories, and entries are all getting a facelift and it will be bigger and better next year. Tons more to come on this over the next several months.

– Scoring system will likely get a change. We received feedback that the difference in win / loss was too narrow so we are looking at making the changes back to draw / minor victory / major victory / massacre. More to come on this as well.

– 9th edition will bring changes and we are prepared to react to this with the rest of the grand tournament scene. We’ll soak it all in, evaluate what changes can and need to be made, and then react in an appropriate way to make sure the Wicked GT remains a great event.

I’ll look at making announcements over the next several months about the status of the Wicked GT and as the date gets closer, registrations opens, and we decide on an exact date, we’ll make new posts right here on the Wicked GT home page. So make sure to check back or follow this site to receive emails as the site gets updated.

Sponsor Spotlight:

In the meantime, I wanted to take a moment to spotlight one of our great sponsors from the Wicked GT 2015: Kromlech.eu – www.bitsofwar.com.

Kromlech.eu (Bits of War) is a modeling company based in Poland that specializes in conversion kits, basing kits, basing supplies, and general gaming supplies of all kinds for gamers just like you and me. A lot of the models that are currently a part of their stock are similar to Warhammer 40k Orks and Warhammer Fantasy Daemons of Chaos, although there are some other models as well. More and more new models get added to the mix each week! In addition to the already great prices you get for one of a kind models, they even offer a loyalty program for you frequent buyers and will award you for continuing to purchase from them!

Bits of War helped out the Wicked GT 2015 by supplying all of our prize support for the Golden Toto Painting Competition and the prizes were well received. One of the biggest prizes was awarded to the category, Best Painted Single Model. Austin Murrey entered his immaculately painted Warriors of Chaos Battle Standard Bearer and took home first place, as well as The Rotten Butcher, which was provided by Bits of War. Austin wasted no time getting this thing assembled and painted to add to his new Warriors of Chaos Army. He now uses as a Nurgle Daemon Prince and he went to town on the detail of it. Check out the pics below to see how detailed he got on it!

If you’re interested in this model or would like to check out their entire line of custom sculpted models then please make sure to visit their site. They were one of our premier sponsors for the Wicked GT 2015 and we hope they’ll be back for 2016. Thanks again and we’ll be back with another sponsor spotlight soon! Happy summer!!

Wicked GT 2015 officially in the books! Winners announced!

Posted on Updated on

shadedlogoThe first ever Wicked GT (@thewickedgt) has come and gone and this past weekend brought together 26 generals from as far west as Denver, Colorado and all the way up north to Illinois and then down south to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma! We had some great players, some excellent armies, and enough shenanigans to go around for the entire weekend! First and foremost, we’d like to give a HUGE shoutout to all of the players. Truly, without you, the players, the Wicked GT would never have happened and been the huge success that it was. The players always make these events awesome and, as a TO, getting to interact with new and old faces alike makes putting on something as special as a grand tournament definitely worthwhile. So a huge thank you to all of the players that dealt with my endless emails and updates, requests for new army lists, and making sure you were paid up and on time! Thank you guys so much!

Secondly, I’d like to thank all of our sponsors – Hero Complex, Bits of War, Hobbytown USA, Cardboard Arcade, Dave Graffam Models, and Secret Weapon Miniatures. For everybody that attended, make sure to check in your Players Packet for all the information you need to get in touch with any of our sponsors. Much like the players, the GT would not be possible without the help from our great sponsors. We had donations from everybody that ranged from boxed sets and blisters to custom bases and miniatures that were used as prize support, and even the terrain that graced all of the tabletops that were up at the Wicked GT. For anybody that has an interest in this hobby, please make sure to visit each and every one of these sponsors because they make / sell some of the best accessories / gaming items you’ll ever need. Thank you to all of our sponsors! You helped make the Wicked GT a success!

Thirdly, I’d like to thank some people in particular. Chris McArthur put together all of the awesome trophies that you can only find at the Wicked GT. In addition to having a unique gaming experience at the Wicked you also get one-of-a-kind trophies that you can’t find anywhere else. The trophies were fan favorites all weekend long so thanks to Chris for making it happen. Also, Brian Hunter (@bambamhunter) did all of the artwork that you seen at the GT this weekend and the images that grace this website. He’s a unique talent that helped to drive home the theme that we were wanting for the Wicked GT so thanks to him as well. And Alex Bade helped to actually get all/most of the items up to the venue this past weekend. This is referring to the keg, tables, etc and he even worked to put together the top 2 theme tables that included the custom tornado and yellow brick road! All of these guys combined helped to make the Wicked GT unique and their help definitely didn’t go unnoticed. Thanks to all of these guys!

Now, it’s time to get down to the final standings… But before we do that let me make just a few more bullet points to let you know what’s coming.

– Surveys! We are going to send out surveys to everybody that attended to get your feedback on the Wicked GT as a whole. Please let us know how we can improve. Remember, if you had a great time at the Wicked GT then please tell other people. If you didn’t, please tell us. There’s no way we can improve if we don’t know what went wrong. We are big boys and gladly accept criticism. It’s the only way we can improve your future Wicked GT gaming experience. Be expecting these surveys shortly!

– Wicked GT 2016! We haven’t finalized a date yet but we know that the Wicked GT 2016 is already set for March 2016… that means we are already within 10 months from having the next one! We were able to switch spots with the Slobberknocker, which works out better for both parties. Once dates are set and we know what’s what, we’ll open registration right here on this website! Stay tuned!

And now for the final standings! Make sure to follow the link below to find out where everybody ended up and also visit the Results page as well as the Golden Toto Painting Competition page to see how that turned out.

We’ll kick it off on Friday night with some pictures of set up and all sorts of things going on that night. We’ll also post pics of players, armies, and Golden Toto Entries so if you’re on Twitter go ahead and start following us!

Factions! One of the exciting things that we’re adding to the Wicked GT Scenarios is the addition of Factions! There are 5 different factions that are battling it out for power in the Land of Oz and it’s up to you to choose whose side you’re on! Before each game, you will have to choose a faction from the list and they may be able to turn the battle in your favor! Whether it’s Wicked Witch of the West you employ for her services or the goody two-shoes Dorothy it doesn’t really matter… what really matters is will they come through when you call upon them in your time of need! Follow this link to find out what the 5 factions are and how they can aid you in battle! Choose wisely! (Note that you can only choose each faction ONCE during the tournament and you can gain 300 VPs by NOT choosing any of the factions for their help and completing their special mission instead! A tough decision, indeed!!!)

Round 1 Match-ups! All the match-ups for Round 1 have now been posted! Make sure you know where you are playing so you can get your army set up on Friday night or Saturday morning. All the tables will be clearly marked! And now we’ve added the Table numbers for each match-up. Also note that these match-ups will be posted at the venue on Friday night as well.

Wicked GT Countdown – 5 days and counting!

Posted on Updated on

We are now just 5 days from the opening night of the Wicked GT! Lots of stuff to cover so I’ll get straight to it!! The excitement is rising and the anticipation is building! This Friday can’t get here quick enough!

Here’s some quick bullet points:

Best General Categories! It seems like there’s been some confusion surrounding the Best General categories and how they came to be and also how these categories coincide with Swedish Comp grades. Let me address this right here and now and say this – THE SWEDISH COMP GRADE THAT YOUR ARMY RECEIVED HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH ROUND 1 PAIRINGS. YOUR GRADE WAS USED SOLELY TO DETERMINE WHICH CATEGORY OF BEST GENERAL THAT YOU WOULD FIT INTO. That said, we have broken down the Best General Categories into Wicked Witches, Tin Men, and Scarecrows. Note that 1st place in EACH of these categories will receive a trophy for coming out on top of all other armies within their category. After going through each army list and giving each one a grade, the Best General Categories are broken down like this: Good luck to all the Army Generals!!!

Wicked Witches Tin Men Scarecrows
Alex Bade Adam Haecker Austin Murrey
Chad Moore Michael Pennington Brian Hunter
Eric Mercer Noble Diven Chris McArthur
Jason Westerhold Mike McGuire Chris Westerhold
John Pike Leland Gross Erik Wilmeth
J.T. Grachek James Valdez John Beshenich
Kenneth Eubanks Eric Rennie Kurt Armstrong
Michael Grudowski Chad Graham Rob Woodrum
Patrick Beshenich Andrew Porter Travis Shore
Randall Hill Mark Giebler
Dennis Nix

– Round 1 Match-ups!!! And now the moment everybody has been waiting for! Here are the Round 1 match-ups for Saturday! Keep in mind that Swedish Comp had nothing at all to do with this. These match-ups were chosen 100% at random. When you come in to set up your army you can find this list posted so make sure you set up your army on the table that you are designated. The printed out list will have the table numbers on it as well so you’ll know where to go. Please note that if we get new players between now and then they will be matched up together, unless they are from the same group. So this list could change… But for now, here it is:

Round 1:

Eric Rennie vs. Travis Shore

Randall Hill vs. Noble Diven

Mike Grudowski vs. Chad Moore

Chad Graham vs. Chris Westerhold

Patrick Beshenich vs. Erik Wilmeth

Dennis Nix vs. Michael Pennington

Kenneth Eubanks vs. Rob Woodrum

Adam Haecker vs. Jason Westerhold

J.T. Grachek vs. Austin Murrey

Alex Bade vs. Eric Mercer

Mike McGuire vs. Brian Hunter

Chris McArthur vs. Leland Gross

Andrew Porter vs. Kurt Armstrong

James Valdez vs. John Pike

John Beshenich vs. Mark Giebler

– The official Wicked GT 2015 Players Packet has been revised in some areas. You can check out the latest revision by visiting here! The changes are in red.

Player Packets! Attached are the gems and arcs of visibility that each player will receive upon completing registration. There are 5 wound markers, 5 warpstone tokens (to be used in one of the scenarios), a blue gem that has your Player Number (for use in raffles) and a token for the Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow (also used in a scenario). These gems and gem bag, as well as the arc, are yours to keep after the GT. Use the wound markers for your own games in the future and if you’re a skaven player then the Warpstone tokens should come in handy too! In addition, each player will have a folder that contains the players packet, your army lists, a lores of magic reference sheet, and the sheets needed for sportsmanship and after each game. You will receive all of this when you get to the registration booth. Lastly, you’ll have your very own lanyard that comes with all your pertinent information for the Wicked GT! Take a look!

Wicked GT Countdown – 10 days to go!

Posted on Updated on

We are now just 10 days from the opening night of the Wicked GT! We are continuing to make last minute preparations for all that we need to make this GT a success. Currently, we have 30 generals ready to do battle on Saturday and Sunday! Make sure to get your last second items done and ready to go! It’s going to be great!

Here’s some quick bullet points:

Schedule! I wanted to add this to the top post in order to spread the word on how the schedule will work. Upon arriving at the Best Western you can make your way back to the game room (we’ll have signs posted) and take care of your registration. We’ll have a folder, some goodies to hand out, and your table assignment so you can then proceed to your table and set up your army if you’d like. We’ve worked with the hotel and they are going to lock the room overnight so you are free to leave your stuff there on Friday night (if you show up early to register) and / or Saturday night. The venue will be available for early registration beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 15th and will be open until midnight for you to register. There will be open gaming as well so bring your armies! Otherwise it will be general BS’ing and hanging out. Come on up and have a beer!

– Army Lists! There have been a few people ask to make some last second changes to their list and that’s ok. I’ll do my best to accommodate any changes that need to be made but I’ll have to draw a line in the sand at some point (probably 3-4 nights before the GT) so that I can begin printing them out to add to your players packets. If you have any changes please let me know sooner rather than later so we can do our best to accommodate you. Thanks!

Custom Arcs of Visibility! Thanks to Adam over at Applied Perspective! He was able to work with  us and create these customs half arcs of visibility so that we can hand out during the Wicked GT. Every participant in the Wicked GT will walk away with one of these in their players packets. You can use these for all of your games throughout the weekend! Just another little something we’re handing out as a way of saying thanks for making the Wicked GT possible! Check it out!

– Raffle! Everybody that signs up at the Registration Table will be given a number on a gem. This number will be your number for the raffles that we’ll be holding all weekend long after each game so make sure to keep this gem close to you in case your number gets called! We will hand out a few items after each game so don’t wander off too far! There’s gonna be plenty to hand out!

Scenarios: All 5 scenarios are now complete and have been posted. You can find them by following this link!

Beer!: The keg has been ordered and the bartender’s table is ready to go. We’ll have a keg of bud light on hand that is free with your entry fee. Additionally, we’ll have some simple cocktails that you can get if beer isn’t your thing. We’ll continue to hand this stuff out until it runs out! Remember to drink responsibly and don’t forget that tips are always appreciated!

Concessions: We’re going to have a small concession stand set up as well. This will have bottles of water, cans of soda, chips, candy bars, etc that will be available for sale. It’s going to be cheap so make sure to have some dollars and change on you in case you need a small snack to get you through the game!

 – Golden Toto Painting Competition – Get your entries painted! We’ll have a separate painting table in which the judges will be looking over all entries and we will do our best to get this done in a timely manner in order to have your models back to you as quickly as we can. In addition, the winners prize support has been provided by Bits of War so each winner will get product provided by http://www.kromlech.eu! Thank you to our great sponsor, Bits of War!

And here’s some other points that we’ve mentioned in past updates:

– Because of our rule to make all buildings impassable we have decided to ban ONE ITEM from this GT, and that is Fozzrik’s Folding Fortress. Please remember this when building your army list.

– The Painting Rubric has been added to the website as well in case you wanted to look it over and see how you can score max points. You can find it by following this link.

– The cost for the Wicked GT is $65 and you can pay via paypal by sending your payment to thewickedgt@gmail.com.

Player’s Packet: All the information for the Wicked GT can be found in this packet ranging from the sponsor list, schedule, venue information, all the way to the scoring rubrics for Appearance and Sportsmanship.

Wicked GT less than 3 weeks away! News & Notes!

Posted on Updated on

Wanted to give another quick update to let everybody know where we are at! We’re currently just under 3 weeks away from the first ever Wicked GT! Trophies are being completed, beer has been ordered, and Golden Toto entries are being finished! Make sure you are ready to go and let us know if you have any questions before the start date.

Here’s some quick bullet points:

– WIP Trophies! Chris McArthur has been working hard to get the trophies completed for the Wicked and his hard work is paying off. We have a WIP picture of some of the trophies. Remember that each winner will get these as well as either product / gift cards! Excellent work, Chris!

Scenarios: All 5 scenarios are now complete and have been posted. You can find them by following this link!

– Prize support! We’ve been given more prize support now and wanted to share with everybody all that we’ve gotten so far. Note that we are having a raffle and a lot of this stuff will be handed out in the raffle and as door prizes. We’re doing our best to give back all that we take in (and more) back to the players! We’ve received the bases from Secret Weapon Miniatures and they include a 10% off checkout code so make sure and get you something after the Wicked GT! Check this out!!

Army Lists: I’ve received just about everybody’s army list and have graded all of them against Swedish Comp. Remember that we’re grading them solely for categories for the Best General. I’ll be sending out emails to everybody soon to let you know what your comp score is and what weight class you’ve been assigned. If you haven’t gotten your list in (you know who you are!) get your lists in to thewickedgt@gmail.com!

 – Golden Toto Painting Competition – Several people have hit me up asking for specifics on the Golden Toto Painting Competition. Remember that this is a standalone event and is separate from the GT itself. You can enter up to 2 entries per category but you can only win once per category. I’ve heard from at least 8 people about so I can’t wait to see some of the great paint jobs that we’ll see! Get your entries ready for the Golden Toto Painting Competition! The trophies have gone to print and they will be ready for the winners. In addition, the winners prize support has been provided by Bits of War so each winner will get product provided by http://www.kromlech.eu! Thank you to our great sponsor, Bits of War!

And this is the stuff from the last post, but still relevant:

– Because of our rule to make all buildings impassable we have decided to ban ONE ITEM from this GT, and that is Fozzrik’s Folding Fortress. Please remember this when building your army list.

– Best Western has informed me that the rates for staying there will be valid up until 2 weeks prior to the Wicked GT. So if you plan on staying at the hotel you have until about May 1 to get the special booking price. Don’t delay!

– The Painting Rubric has been added to the website as well in case you wanted to look it over and see how you can score max points. You can find it by following this link.

– The cost for the Wicked GT is $65 and you can pay via paypal by sending your payment to thewickedgt@gmail.com.

April 16, 2015: The last day for refunds has passed. If something comes up and you need to cancel from the Wicked GT we regret to inform that we can not give you a refund. The funds are now being spent in order to make final preparations for the tournament. Thank you for your understanding!

April 19, 2015: Army lists are due now!! Get them in!!! If you have to turn in your army list after April 19th then you will receive a -5 points to your overall score, to be applied at the end of the GT. Please do your best to get your lists in on time. I understand that things come up, you may want to change a unit or two, or even bring a new army entirely. I’ll work with you on this so that no negative points are applied. If you work with me then we should be fine… but if you’re blatantly not putting together a list and waiting until the last minute then it really leaves us no choice so do your best to get me a list as soon as you can!!! We just need to get army lists in as quick as possible so that we can grade them for Swedish Comp (which will be used ONLY to determine 1st round match-ups). There should be no reason anybody has to start the tournament down -5 points.

Player’s Packet: All the information for the Wicked GT can be found in this packet ranging from the sponsor list, schedule, venue information, all the way to the scoring rubrics for Appearance and Sportsmanship.
